Way more than how to fly a kite!
This week started the Franklin Makeover – MKE Style! While Mr. Franklin created an exercise where he was looking at attributes he did not want in his life, we are concentrating on attributes we DO want, because as we know, we can’t see in others what we don’t already possess ourselves.
Each week we concentrate on one of the following, and keep track of how often we can see it – anywhere – in people, on TV or in a movie, by watching your pet, or in yourself.
Decisiveness
Kindness
Courage
Enthusiasm
Pleasing Personality
Discipline
Taking Initiative
Persistence
Self Control
Well-Organized
Specialized Knowledge
Imagination
seeing God in others
As our friend Jason has shared with us, we can also “battleship” the attribute to find it in anything! On our Zoom we were talking about courage.
He explained that even while looking down at a sidewalk you can see courage. It took someone having courage to apply for the job to design the street, and get the plans approved, and hire people to do the work, which took courage on their part, and then the courage of the cement people and the truck driver and the laborers, and on and on and on. And the person walking showed courage, to make a decision, then to leave the house, and on and on and on and on. So you can find dozens of examples of whatever you’re concentrating on everywhere!

What are you looking for this week?

My focus for Week 18 is discipline and persistence. I like your examples of courage. I never gave much thought that they are courageous actions.
Thank You!
It’s the ‘battleship’ exercise from a few weeks back. I’ve learned we can “battleship” anything! Exercise the mind! Thanks for stopping by!
Thank, Nancy for your insights and the great reminders to look for courage everywhere. Yes, the battleship exercise. I know I need to remind myself to do the battleship exercise much more often.
I’m looking for well-organized; both my husband and my desktop is in the process today of deciding, filing, eliminating despite it being perfect weather. Sigh
It will feel so good when you’re done!
