Opportunites for gratitude are all around us!
So – I was enjoying a hot shower and as I turned the handle to shut off the water, the handle turned to the ‘off’ position, but the water kept flowing. Okey dokey – what to do?
First opportunity for gratitude – I wrapped myself in a towel, and went to tell my husband who happened to be home, and he went to the basement to the main water shut off. (and he also said, “I knew that would happen.” um – what?)
Next opportunity for gratitude – I realized I had about 1/2 gallon of fresh filtered water in the water tank, and we had three or four cases of bottled water, plus several gallons of distilled water stored for the iron, and the fabric steamer.

I also am grateful – that my husband is handy and I didn’t need to call a plumber. He took the handle of the shower off and was able to put some interesting kind of wrench thingy on it to we could turn it off and on. So, we were back in business as far as personal hygiene is concerned. He also added a nice layer of self-stick plastic wrap over it so no water dripped behind the tile.

More gratitude – After he got the water turned back on, I filled up more containers with water – including the dog bowl, and both tanks on the water filter. So grateful that we just have to turn a tap and water is delivered right to our kitchen – that is a freaking miracle that many people in the world just dream of!
He went on a hunt for a part to fix the faucet – because we didn’t want to have to take the tile/wall apart. He found a supply house just a few miles from here, but they didn’t have it in stock. They offered to have it sent from their other store about thirty miles away. The next morning he went back and lo, and behold – they sent the wrong thing.
BUT
Gratitude – they called the other store who put eyes on the part we needed, and he drove over there to pick it up. Within 15 minutes of his return, our shower was back in service!
Like I said – anything or everything that comes to you is an opportunity for gratitude – you just have to choose to be grateful!

What do you have to be grateful for today?
