When you become aware of kindness, you see it all around!
I got a great idea from a Facebook post of a friend. She is an artist and gets many deliveries, especially during the holiday season. She sets up a kitchen step stool on her front porch, on the top shelf she had a basket of snacks, and on the bottom, a bucket of cold drinks.

She offered a download of a sign in her signature hand-lettering style If you follow the link, you can see her fabulous work. Here is an image she posted around Christmas. I’ve taken a class from her and she is a doll! I’m sure you can find something on her site that you must have!
Anyway, I took her suggestion of snacks for the ‘box men’ – as the neighbor boy says, and created my own with a lawn chair and heavy red bowl. It did my heart good when I would see a delivery person leave the porch with a snack and drink in hand!

After Christmas, we realized how much fun we were having by blessing the delivery folk, so we decided to keep it going all year. We may need to take it down when it gets really hot, or maybe we can adjust somehow to accommodate the heat. My husband created a more permanent situation – we still need to paint it, but we will wait until it warms up! We raised it to be easier to see, I made a better sign, and here’s what we’re using now:

In case you wondered, Little Debbie’s Cosmic Brownies are the favorite! I keep a big supply and continually restock! How are you spreading kindness today?

Nancy, what a nice way to spread kindness. Good for you. From your blog rover friend John.
It is really fun when we see that someone has taken us up on the offer!
What a great idea–it’s kind of year-round Halloween for your delivery people! Very kind and I’m sure much appreciated! 🙂
I think so – they work so hard!
